# Sprint Retrospectives

The team Retrospective board stores notes for one selected sprint in three categories: **What went well**, **What to improve**, and **Action items**.

## Open a sprint retrospective

1. Expand the team in the sidebar and select **Sprints**.
2. Select the **Retrospective** tab.
3. Choose a sprint from the selector. Its date range and completed/total task count appear beside it.

## Add and manage notes

1. Enter a concise note in the matching category field.
2. Press **Enter** to save. **Shift+Enter** inserts a line break. Leaving the field also submits non-empty text.
3. Use the note card's upvote control to vote. Use its edit or delete controls to maintain the note.

Action-item cards also provide **Task**, which opens a task-creation dialog. Review the task title and project before creating it.

## Generate AI suggestions (optional)

1. Select a provider: Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini.
2. Choose a model when the selected provider offers the model picker; otherwise the default model is used.
3. Click **Generate with AI**. A valid provider key must already be configured under **Settings → AI Provider Keys**.
4. Review and edit each suggestion, then **Accept** to save it as a note or **Dismiss** to discard it.

Generated suggestions remain drafts until accepted. Generation may fail if the provider key is missing, invalid or out of quota; use the error shown in the app to diagnose provider-side issues.

## Troubleshooting

| Symptom                           | Check                                                                     |
| --------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Board says there are no sprints   | Create a sprint first on the team Sprints page.                           |
| Notes appear under another sprint | Check the sprint selector; notes are scoped to the selected sprint.       |
| AI generation is disabled         | Add or validate the selected provider key in Settings → AI Provider Keys. |
